Image 1 – Generated in Midjourney
This is the starting image, generated entirely with Midjourney. As we know, for the creation of scenarios or shots from scratch, MJ still remains one of the best tools for quality and control. I wanted to start from here and then move on to the change through Gemini.
Image 2 – Added color with Gemini

With a simple and direct prompt (“Can you make me the photo in color?”)Gemini colored the image keeping visual consistency: no variation in the arrangement of objects, but a very balanced, perfectly integrated chromatic reinterpretation.
Image 3 – Insertion of realistic object

And here comes the real leap in quality: I asked to insert a real lamp (taken from a product photo) in the context of the scene. The result is surprising: proportions, shadows and reflections consistent with environmental light, without strange alterations to the geometry of the furniture.
Those who tried to do something similar in Midjourney know how laborious or inaccurate it can be: here are enough a few seconds.
Image 4 – CHANGE OF LIGHTING: NIGHT VERSION

Last transformation: I asked to move on to night mode. The room darkened, the lamp turned on, creating a perfectly legible and realistic scene. Those who work with Photoshop or in 3D environments know how long it can require a well -made change of light. Here, everything happens in a few seconds.
Conclusions on the use of Nano Banana
This small test clearly shows as Gemini 2.5 Flash, or Nano bananacan become a powerful ally for those who work with images in a design way. It is not designed to replace Midjourney – which today remains the best tool for generating images from scratch and aesthetic quality – but is perfect for supporting it in the editing, adaptation and finishing phase.
The main advantage? Precision. Change a detail, change an object, vary the lighting or reinterpret an already existing scene: all operations that, in Midjourney, can request several attempts, while here they are obtained with a single prompt, written in a natural way.
The limits of Nano Banana
Of course, there is some limit. The quality of the images generated by Nano bananato date, is not comparable to that of Midjourney. If you try to enlarge the image or to use it for high resolution printing, pixels and artifacts emerge. It is a tool that works best on a “screen” scale, therefore perfect for concepts, ideas, quick revisions or visual moodboard.
But the potential is enormous, and integration with tools such as Midjourney opens increasingly fluid scenarios for those who work in architectural visualization, design or visual communication.
In the next appointments we will also return to Midjourney (which continues to update), but in the meantime I invite you to experiment Nano banana. Whether it’s a change on an render, a test on an alternative visual proposal or proposal, this tool can simplify many phases of our creative process.
I am waiting for you at the next newsletter with new tools, tests and interesting combinations to explore, and I invite you to leave comments below in case you have doubts or practical questions.
