A 96 by Fassa Bortolo: characteristics and strengths
A 96 by Fassa Bortolo is a premixed glue/smoothing compound based on Portland cement, synthetic fibres, selected limestone sands and specific additives designed to improve workability and adhesion.
Its strong point is the grain size < 1.4 mm, which facilitates a smoothing of 5/6 mm, both on EPS and rock wool slabs, perfect for working with a toothed spatula: this technique is the most functional for applying the smoothing layer uniformly, and makes it easier to immerse the reinforcing mesh in the fresh material, avoiding leaving air pockets or spreading excess material.
The possibility of having A 96 also available in silos, and of processing it by machine for interventions on large surfaces, also guarantees less waste and greater speed.
On the market for 30 years
At 96 it celebrates its thirty years in 2026 and remains among the most requested Fassa Bortolo products. Over the years, two variations of the product have been added for specific needs – such as A 96 DESIGN and A 96 RESPHIRA – but the original version has never been altered.
