Because the course is also relevant for the professionals of the technical area

The relevance of Eaa for professionals in the technical area (architects, engineers, surveyors, etc.) is concrete, especially in contexts in which technology and design integrate. That’s why:

  • Inclusive design: If a technician works on buildings or spaces that include digital devices (e.g. electronic signs, kiosks, interactive systems), it is necessary to ensure that they respect the accessibility standards.
  • Specifications and contracts: in the public and private fields, the technicians can be involved in the drafting or evaluation of technical documents in which accessibility requirements become mandatory.
  • Smart cities and urban digitization: architects, engineers and surveyors engaged in integrated projects must know the principles of Eaa to guarantee compliant and inclusive solutions.
  • Legislation and responsibility: The EAA introduces legal obligations also for those who participate in the choice or supply of ICT components, with direct implications on professional responsibilities.
