In the last days of 2025, two important competitions for Assistants were published (and therefore accessible only with a high school diploma, without the need for a degree) on a territorial basis, for qualifications and exams, and aimed at hiring full-time and permanent staff in various administrations: a tender for 1100 positions at the Ministry of Defence, and one for 3997 positions in various administrations.
The two competitions represent an interesting opportunity not only for candidates with an administrative profile, but also for technical professionals – surveyors, experts, architects and engineers – interested in a stable career path in the Public Administration, but for months nothing more was heard. RIPAM competition for 3,997 assistants in various administrations
The first competition concerns the overall recruitment of 3,997 units of non-managerial staff, to be placed in the Assistants Area at various administrations (Ministry of the Interior, INL, INPS, MIM, MEF, etc.). The places are divided as follows:
- Administrative assistants: 2,913 positions
- Economic assistants: 498 places
- IT assistants: 583 positions
- Technical assistants: 3 positions
For all profiles, in addition to the general requirements (Italian citizenship, age of majority, physical fitness, etc.), a secondary school diploma (five years or equivalent) is required. A degree is not required, but further qualifications (bachelor’s, master’s, doctorate) can be assessed for the purposes of the score.
The selection involves a single written test (multiple choice test) and the subsequent evaluation of qualifications for suitable candidates. The test includes questions on:
- administrative law and public employment;
- public contracts code;
- organization of administrations;
- digital skills and English language;
- specific subjects based on the chosen profile. The 3 technical assistant positions are of particular interest for professionals in the construction sector, as they require specific skills in the field of the Public Contracts Code and the Consolidated Construction Law (Presidential Decree 380/2001).
The written tests for the competition codes for economic assistants (ECO code), IT assistants (INF code) and technical assistants (TEC code) will take place on 22 July 2026. RIPAM competition for 1,100 assistants at the Ministry of Defense
The second RIPAM competition is dedicated exclusively to the Ministry of Defense and involves the hiring of 1,100 assistants, again with permanent contracts. The places are divided as follows:
- 600 administrative assistants (AMM Code);
- 9 healthcare assistants (Code FS-41);
- 22 support services assistants (Code FT-35);
- 2 assistants for food and catering (Code FT-36 -LAZ) for Lazio;
- 40 security services assistants (Code FT-37);
- 20 IT technical assistants (Code FT-45);
- 5 assistant units for information services (Code FT-46-LAZ) for Lazio;
- 65 technical assistant units for electrical and electromechanical systems (Code FT-47);
- 14 technical assistant units for cartography and graphics (Code FT-48);
- 10 units of chemical-physical technical assistant (Code FT-49);
- 7 units of technical assistant bomb disposal technician (Code FT-50);
- 88 units of technical assistant for construction and maintenance (Code FT-51);
- 12 units of nautical technical assistant (Code FT-52);
- 53 technical assistant units for electronics, optoelectronics and telecommunications (Code FT-53);
- 48 units of technical assistant for processing (Code FT-54);
- 105 technical assistant units for engines, mechanics and weapons (Code FT-55).
Also in this case, access is permitted only with a diploma and selection takes place based on qualifications and exams (only written test: multiple choice test, the date of which is not yet known).
Application form and deadlines
For both competitions:
- the application must be submitted exclusively online via the inPA portal by 27 January 2026, 6.00 pm:
- authentication with SPID, CIE or CNS is required;
- a participation fee of 10 euros is required;
- each candidate can apply for only one profile/competition code.

Given the breadth of the subjects and the quiz format of the written test, targeted preparation is essential.
