In the panorama of initiatives dedicated to design innovation and digital transformation of the construction sector, BIM (K)now! and ARCH (K)now! they are configured as spaces for discussion between universities, professions and institutions. The two formats, conceived and coordinated by Vittorio Andrea Sellaro (BIM Laboratory, DICAr), promote dialogue on the transformations that are affecting contemporary architecture and the AEC sector, within a national program involving various universities.
The 2026 cycle, started at the Polytechnic of Turin, continues in several university locations, including Pavia, which will host some key events.
Active since 2020, BIM (K)now! is today a reference for in-depth information on Building Information Modeling, digital processes and emerging technologies applied to construction. Since 2024, it has been joined by ARCH (K)now!, which broadens the focus to the cultural dimension of architecture, addressing issues such as the social role of built space, urban quality and the relationship between project and context.

BIM (K)now! + ARCH (K)now! Lectures Pavia 2026
With the patronage of the University of Pavia, the initiative returns to the city as a stage in a journey dedicated to the transformation processes of the AEC sector, with a focus on the role of sustainability, BIM, artificial intelligence and digital twin in the evolution of design and decision-making models.
The Lectures are held in collaboration with the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the University of Pavia, led by Prof. Andrea Penna, and are part of the Project Dorianwith the scientific contribution of various teachers.

Contents and objectives of the meeting cycle
The meetings alternate keynote lectures, case studies and moments of open discussion, configuring themselves not only as opportunities for technical updating, but also as spaces for reflection on the cultural, professional and technological changes in the AEC sector. Themes range from digital strategies for BIM to collaborative models, from applications of artificial intelligence to emerging regulations, up to issues related to sustainability. A distinctive element of the two formats is the integration between the technical-operational dimension and cultural vision, avoiding both closed specialization and simplified disclosure.
Participation is also broad and transversal: students, professionals, jurists, representatives of the public administration and stakeholders of the digital transformation share a heterogeneous space for discussion. This plurality represents at the same time the basis and the challenge of the project: to build a common language capable of maintaining rigor and depth.
Over time, BIM (K)now! and ARCH (K)now! they have gone beyond the dimension of the training event, configuring themselves as cultural platforms in which reflection on the project dialogues with different fields – from health to sport, from literature to the promotion of beauty – recognized as relevant elements for more conscious planning. From this perspective, the two formats become places of convergence between research, business and training, in which theoretical vision and professional practice meet, strengthening the value of the network as a shared cultural responsibility. Experiences of this type confirm the role of the university as a connection space between knowledge, industry and innovation.
