Presented on the occasion of Batimat 2026, the collection includes eight models and focuses as much on lightness as on comfort, cushioning and freedom of movement.
For the brand, which boasts nearly 80 years of experience in protecting professionals, the challenge is not to transform a safety shoe into a simple sneaker. No, it’s more about resuming the innovations developed for shoes running and of trail in order to respond to a very concrete problem: lightening equipment worn for several hours a day, sometimes in particularly demanding conditions.

450 g: Jallatte focuses on lightness
The figure is the one that Jallatte puts forward the most: only 450 g, depending on the model. The brand thus claims a record lightness on the safety shoe market. To achieve this level, the manufacturer was particularly interested in the Supercritical Foam based on PEBA : this high performance foam, used in shoes running and of trailcombines low density, cushioning and energy return.
The objective is to reduce the feeling of fatigue linked to wearing safety shoes throughout the day, bringing more dynamism to each step. “We did not design SUPERBAX to replace what we already know how to do for building professionals. We wanted to offer them something else. Sports shoes have evolved enormously in recent years in terms of materials, lightness and sensations. With SUPERBAX, we have transposed some of these advances to our business, while retaining what has been our DNA for nearly 80 years: the protection of people at work.“, explains Jean-Marie Calame, the general director of Jallatte.
Materials inspired by high sports performance
The search for lightness does not, however, rest solely on the sole since Jallatte has reworked the entire shoe in order to limit weight while maintaining support, resistance and protection. There EXO-KNIT upper combines a breathable and water-repellent 3D technical knit with TPU reinforcements ; the latter play the role of an exoskeleton intended to reinforce the structure of the shoe without adding unnecessary material.
The protective tip also adopts a particular design. It is made from a nanoreinforced composite material, combining a polymer resin matrix, high-strength glass fibers and nanoparticles. According to Jallatte, this combination improves rigidity and impact resistance while limiting weight. Same logic for anti-perforation protection, which is based on a 100% UHMWPE fiber composition. This material has a high strength/weight ratio and maintains more flexibility than metal protection.
Under the foot, the JGRIPP outsole uses TRIFTANE, a bi-material nitrile developed by Jallatte. It must ensure the grip and durability of the shoe and benefits from the HRO standard, corresponding to resistance to contact heat up to 300°C. © Jallatte
The safety shoe wants to leave the construction site
Behind the technical characteristics, SUPERBAX above all reflects an evolution of user expectations, because there safety shoe is no longer necessarily worn only during the few hours spent on a construction site. For many craftsmen and self-employed people, it now accompanies them throughout the day: travel, construction site, meeting with a client, going to the depot or office. In this context, comfort and weight take on particular importance. Style is also becoming a criterion of choice, particularly for professionals who are looking for equipment capable of integrating more easily into their daily lives.
Jallatte therefore intends to move away from the traditional codes of safety footwearwith silhouettes directly inspired by sneakersof running and of trail. “Safety shoes are now worn well beyond the sole action carried out on the construction site. For a craftsman or a freelancer, it can accompany a whole day of work. We therefore wanted to maintain the level of requirements of a professional shoe while giving it the codes of a shoe that we really want to wear.“, continues Jean-Marie Calame.

Another feature highlighted by Jallatte: the eight models are designed without metal, which can notably meet the constraints of certain professional environments sensitive to the presence of metal. Two high models also include protection for the malleolus. THE JALTWIST receives the BOA Fit System for its partwhich allows you to quickly and precisely adjust the fit of the shoe using a micro-adjustment system.
With SUPERBAX, Jallatte especially changes the codes
The launch at the Paris Builders Show is obviously not trivial: by choosing the major Parisian meeting of building professionals to present SUPERBAX, Jallatte intends to (de)show that safety shoes can evolve without abandoning their primary function. There protection against construction site risks obviously remains the starting point; however, the manufacturer now adds other criteria to the specifications: weight, cushioning, flexibility, breathability, support and aesthetics.
With SUPERBAX, Jallatte is therefore not only looking to make a lighter safety shoe. Above all, the brand intends to respond to a new generation of uses, where equipment must be able to protect, but also to be forgotten throughout the day.
