Starting a Farm

The book, which we are offering in a new, updated edition, is a real operational guide that, through clear and direct language, is aimed at anyone who wants to open a farm from scratch, those who are already agricultural entrepreneurs and intend to improve their business, and those who teach agricultural economics at training courses, higher institutes or university faculties.
The first edition of the volume has established itself as a point of reference for entrepreneurs and professionals in the agricultural sector because it promotes the deepening of knowledge, including technical knowledge, as well as strategies to improve the profitability of companies, in addition to providing the tools to make the most appropriate business decisions, anticipating risks and avoiding failures.
The second edition has been greatly enhanced in content and presentation of both the innovative activities of the farmer of the future, and the process of analysis and evaluation of entrepreneurial initiative in normal situations and with the indiscriminate increase in costs in the agricultural sector.
The focuses, doubled in the second edition and always placed at the end of each chapter together with practical examples of successful companies, in addition to deepening the various topics covered, further consolidate the pragmatic and operational approach that this guide wants to propose. For these reasons, a software called AGRIPLAN is also provided, attached to the guide, which will allow the farmer 4.0 to draw up complex economic and financial plans, with the possibility of moving analytically on multiple fronts.
The Excel application has been renewed to provide a customized operational tool of a forecasting type (the Business Plan), capable of helping current and future operators in the agricultural sector in their management decisions through the provision of an effective and efficient business plan, and integrated with sensitivity analysis to measure the profitability of the company by varying two or more parameters that determine it.
