Advanced search: POD code and area identifier
One of the main innovations concerns the possibility of making research in the map not only by address or geographical coordinates, but also through the POD code (Point of Delivery) or the identification code of the conventional area.
The POD code represents the connection point to the network and therefore allows for more precise identification of the area to which the supply point belongs.
How to use the interactive map of the Primary Cabins for CERs
All the information is available on the GSE portal instructions to consult the updated map. To get started, just enter an address or the geographic coordinates of the place you are interested in. The map will return the associated conventional area, complete with reference codean 11-character alphanumeric string that uniquely identifies the area.
This tracking system allows users to check precisely if the connection points fall within the area of the same primary substation. It is an essential tool for those who intend to form groups of self-consumers or who participate in Renewable Energy Communities, as correct positioning within the same conventional area is a fundamental requirement for sharing the energy produced.
Updated areas
The update of the map was carried out on the basis of the new information provided by the Network Operators and resulted in a redefinition of the perimeters of conventional areasespecially for those that extend across multiple market areas. This change responds to the need to facilitate the sharing of renewable energy that needs to occur within the same market area.
On the map, areas that have undergone changes are marked with different shades of green: those reduced appear in dark green, while the areas expanded are highlighted in light green. The changes will remain visible for a month to facilitate consultation and verification.
Research conventional areas
From 28 October 2024, a new application is available in the Customer Area called “Conventional Areas”. This application allows you to perform a massive search of conventional areas associated with multiple connection points. This functionality is particularly useful for companies and groups of self-consumers who need to quickly verify that multiple connection points belong to the same primary substation.
To make the best use of this application, you can consult the “User Manual for Conventional Areas” provided by the GSE.
The regions affected by the changes
The regions affected by the updates of the borders of the conventional areas are: Liguria, Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Marche, Abruzzo, Umbria, Lazio, Molise, Campania, Basilicata, Puglia and Calabria.
The details relating to these changes can be consulted in the section dedicated to “Self-consumer groups and renewable energy communities” under the heading “Documents”.
What to do if no results emerge?
In the GSE user manual it is specified that if the search carried out via address or geographical coordinates, should return a different result compared to that obtained using the POD code, for example in the case in which the address falls in a border area between different areas, it is always advisable to refer to the result obtained with the search using the POD code.
In case instead of searching via POD code no results emerged it is possible that the competent Network Manager has not yet provided the data to the GSE.
