Designing healthy air through a multidisciplinary approach to the built environment
How much do design and construction choices impact the healthiness of indoor environments? And what tools do we have today to measure, evaluate and improve it? These are some of the themes at the center of the second edition of Designing the Airfair-congress on Healthy Building, organized by Biosafe and scheduled for Thursday 26 November 2026, from 8:30 to 18:30, at the Fermo Forum.
The event arises from the need to address the quality of the built environment through a synergy of skills that too often today are not linked together: sustainable design, Clinical Environmental Medicine, study of the emissivity of building materials, analysis and design of indoor air quality, principles of environmental monitoring, fundamentals of bio-architecture, analysis of humidity in buildings and knowledge of electromagnetic fields.
Because healthiness is not a characteristic to be verified exclusively after the building is completed, but a measurable and calculable parameter of primary environmental prevention to be considered from the first design choices, in the selection of materials and in the definition of construction solutions.
The conference program
The event includes a program full of content that links project, environment and health. Within the exhibition context, the conference “Reflections on Healthy Buildings” builds and constitutes the point of comparison between different disciplines.
The program covers some of the central themes today for those dealing with the quality of the built environment: sustainable construction and the future of the sector, new CAM Construction and certification of building materials, Clinical Environmental Medicine and environmental monitoring, Environmental Health Certification, bio-architecture and biomimicry, electromagnetic fields in indoor environments and degradation phenomena linked to building humidity.
It is a path that allows us to observe the building envelope and its systems from complementary points of view and to relate aspects that concretely impact professional practice: from performance to the choice of materials, from the prevention of critical issues to the possibility of measuring and verifying environmental conditions.
From technical comparison to solutions: the exhibition area
Designing the Air above all she is proud. The conference program is accompanied by an exhibition area in which the partner companies will be present with their own dedicated spaces.
Materials, systems and technologies can be explored directly with company representatives, creating a concrete connection between the topics addressed during the congress and the rigorously certified solutions Biosafeavailable for design and construction.
The exhibition area will be accessible throughout the day and will represent an interesting opportunity for discussion between professionals, technicians and companies.
Professional training and CFP
Designing Air 2026 is aimed at architects, engineers, surveyors, experts and professionals in the construction sector interested in learning more about criteria, tools and solutions for integrating healthiness into the design of the built environment.
Participation is free upon registration, and provides for the recognition of 3 CFP for Engineers, 9 CFP for Architects, 6 CFP for Surveyors and 6 CFP for Experts.
