GYPSOTECH® EXTERNA GYPS: performance
The systems made with the new GYPSOTECH® EXTERNA GYPS sheet from Fassa Bortolo resist high “hot-rain” and “cold-hot” cycles without showing deterioration, cracks or visible damage, as proven by the numerous tests of resistance to atmospheric agents to which they have been subjected in specialized laboratories.
The tests achieved a wind load resistance of 1.3 kN/m2air permeability class A4, water tightness class RE750 and optimal performance in hygrothermal cycles. Subjected to high humidity, GYPSOTECH® EXTERNA GYPS, thanks to a reduced total water absorption index (< 5%), maintains high dimensional stability (according to EN 318) and planar stability (class A according to EN 14617-12). It represents the best performance in the category, which confirms the product as highly performing and not very sensitive to humidity, making it also ideal for use in indoor environments characterized by high humidity (such as wellness centres, swimming pools, garages, cellars, kitchens, industrial laundries).
GYPSOTECH® EXTERNA GYPS also excels from the point of view of mechanical resistance, thanks to the core with a density of 900 kg/m³, which also provides greater surface resistance in the event of impacts and pushes. Furthermore, also in terms of reaction to fire, the slab is Euroclass A1 (technically “non-combustible”), in compliance with the EN 13501-1 standard.
Last, but not least from the perspective of living comfort, GYPSOTECH® EXTERNA GYPS provides, in combination with materials of different thicknesses and densities, high acoustic insulation.
The Fassa EXTERNA GYPS system has obtained the European Technical Assessment (ETA) of suitability for use to create non-load-bearing external wall systems clad in slabs.

GYPSOTECH® EXTERNA GYPS: advantages
The excellent performance of the product is combined with a reduction in construction costs, thanks to quicker and easier construction (a dry shell weighs approximately 1/3 of a brick one), greater cleanliness of the construction site and more precise management of construction times.
Furthermore, the system can be customized according to project needs and is capable of accommodating any type of system in its cavity structure.
As regards comfort, in general the high thermo-acoustic insulation ensures very high energy performance and living well-being, with lower thicknesses than traditional construction systems.
Last but not least, the choice of this product also responds to an environmental commitment, given that the impact of a dry shell is reduced throughout its life cycle: from production, to the reduction of the building’s energy consumption, to its possible demolition (a high percentage of components can be more easily recycled).
