Safe construction sites: how to coordinate procurement, training and inspections

On a construction site where multiple contractors operate at the same time, safety comes into play before the work even begins: you need to know who is authorized to access, who has already received the necessary training and who responds in the event of an inspection or accident. It is the coordination obligation provided for by Article 26 of Legislative Decree 81/08 and formalized in the DUVRI, but in daily practice it means one thing above all: keeping together information that arrives from different sources, often late.

Multiple contracts, one overview

On a construction site where multiple companies work simultaneously – typically starting from three active contracts – configuring the same risks and the same protocols for each individual company quickly becomes repetitive work rather than a guarantee of safety. By grouping the contracts and companies involved in a single project, the mandatory risks and safety and emergency protocols are configured only once and automatically apply to each connected company.

The structure of the subcontracting supply chain and the competition between the different teams in a defined area and period also remain visible at all times, without having to reconstruct it manually between Excel sheets and emails.

Verified contractor training, without chasing certificates

The Training module allows the client company to link each course to a specific compliance requirement: you can choose from a catalog of common HSE training – working at heights, first aid, electrical safety, emergency protocols – or upload completely customized content, built on the specific training of the host company.

When the worker passes the exam, the certificate is automatically generated and his eligibility status updates automatically, without the need for manual review, always remaining visible and verifiable on his access badge, together with the expiry date. Even those who do not have a company email, as often happens among subcontractors, can access the course via a simple link.

Inspections and incidents, from verification to closure

It is not enough to carry out a check on the construction site: what emerges needs to be traced to the solution, not archived as an isolated annotation. By configuring customized inspection modules for site, activity or risk category, and carrying out checks from the web or app with supporting photos, each criticality detected becomes an incident linked to the inspection that generated it. The progress, corrective actions and deadlines remain visible to both the internal team and the company involved, with automatic updates instead of a report at the end of the month, and everything can be exported to Excel for reporting.

Coordination, training and control are three faces of the same organizational challenge: knowing, at all times, who is working on the construction site and with what guarantees. It is the same principle on which Twind’s document management is based, extended here to the entire life cycle of the construction site.
