The Ministry of Justice has announced a new competition, open to anyone in possession of high school diplomafor thepermanent hiring of 150 Technical Assistantswho will then be assigned to operate at the Department of Penitentiary Administration.
This is a selection process by exams which includes asingle written testand any additional qualifications will not be taken into consideration. Of the 150 positions available, 15 are reserved for internal personnel already in service at the Ministry of Justice.

Competition 150 Technical Assistants Ministry of Justice: requirements
To access the 2024 Ministry of Justice competition as a Technical Assistant, it is necessary to have a five-year secondary school diploma issued by state, private or legally recognized institutions. Other requirements are the following:
- Italian citizenship or fall within the categories of admitted foreigners, as indicated in Article 38 of Legislative Decree 30 March 2001 n. 165;
- Enjoyment of the civil and political rights;
- Physical fitness to carry out the duties required by the role;
- Moral and conduct requirements established by art. 35, paragraph 6, of Legislative Decree 165/2001.
Those who have been dismissed for disciplinary reasons, removed from public office or removed from public employment for producing false documents are excluded from participation.

Applications for participation must be submitted exclusively online through the InPa portal, accessible via SPID, CIE, CNS or eIDAS credentials. It will be necessary to provide a personal Certified Electronic Mail (PEC) address.
The deadline for submitting applications is set for 11:59 PM, October 18, 2024. There is no participation fee.
Competition 150 Technical Assistants Ministry of Justice: written test subjects
The competition includes a single written test which will also include verification of knowledge of the English language and computer skills. This will be a multiple choice test aimed at evaluating the logical-technical skills and knowledge relating to various subjects, including:
- Main aspects of thePenitentiary systemwith focus on prison construction (L. 354/75; DPR 230/2000);
- Public Contracts Code – Legislative Decree 36/2023, with particular attention to Books I, II and III;
- Safety in the workplace – Legislative Decree 81/2008, with particular regard to building sites;
- Testing knowledge of the English language and of the computer skills.
The minimum score to pass the test will be 21/30. The exact methods of carrying out the test, the number of questions and the time available will be defined by the examining commission and communicated on the InPa portal and on the website of the Ministry of Justice.

What does the Technical Assistant at the Ministry of Justice do?
The role of Technical Assistant in the context of the Department of Penitentiary Administration mainly concerns tasks related to the maintenance and technical management of prison infrastructures.
The Technical Assistants are specialized figures which intervene on aspects such as theprison building and the construction site safetyfollowing the current regulations (e.g. Legislative Decree 81/2008 for safety in the workplace and Legislative Decree 36/2023 for public procurement). In addition to technical skills, as we have seen, knowledge of the English language and ability to use IT equipment are required, necessary to support operational management and technological innovation within prison facilities.
