Prompt for complex technical analysis (technical Self-Ask)
Scope: Guide chatgpt in onestructured, transparent and not improvised analysis of complex technical questionsthose in which the answer depends on multiple variables: environmental, design or procedural regulations.
The prompt is inspired by the Socratic method and forces the model to:
- Understand What must ask before answering
- Proceed step by step
- Reach a conclusion motivated, not generic
It is designed to support technical, regulatory or administrative evaluation in areas such as Urban planning, construction, safety, construction sites, constraints, qualifications, cadastral practices.
Effectiveness and strengths:
- Reduces “creative” errors of the model: it does not invent data
- Makes logical passages visible: every answer is motivated
- Perfect in cases where a motivated decision is neededbut certain elements are missing
- It can be combined with external sources (e.g. self ask + legislation or search engine)
- Different from the Chain of Thought (COT):
- Cot produces a continuous flow of thought;
- The Self-Ask separates questions and answersand you involves in reasoningas in a Technical interview or inspection
