Driven by its growth, Bobi Réemploi is investing 300 m2 in new offices fitted out almost exclusively with reused materials. A head office designed as the showcase of a sector set to change scale.
Driven by sustained growth, the Lyon design office Bobi Réemploi just moved in 300 m2 new ones premises furnished almost exclusively with reused materials. More than just a head office, the place is intended to be a concrete demonstration of the possibilities offered by this sector, which is set to gain momentum under the effect of new regulations.
Created in Lyon in 2019 and recognized as a social and solidarity economy (ESS) company since 2022, Bobi Réemploi supports project owners, architects and companies in integrating the reuse of construction materials. Its intervention covers the entire project cycle: PEMD diagnosis, definition of reuse strategies – particularly in situ –, selective deconstruction, design, sourcing of materials, drafting of market documents, operational monitoring and technical expertise. © VRamet
Mainly located in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Burgundy, Bobi Réemploi participates in structuring the sector through a local, collaborative and operational approach. Certified OPQIBI 1907 for the PEMD diagnosis, the company also obtained the “Engagés à Lyon” label and joined, in 2023, the Réseau Entreprendre Rhône, which supports job-creating companies. © VRamet.
The company defends a global approach to reusegoing beyond the simple logic of the material to integrate the technical, insurance, economic and organizational dimensions of the projects. In order to structure this approach, it relies on several tools developed internally: a digital networking platform, a storage space in the heart of Lyon, a prototyping workshop as well as a supply and training offer intended for its partners.
A showcase of reuse in the heart of Lyon
The reuse of construction materials is gradually leaving the experimental stage to become established on construction sites. HAS Lyon, Bobi Reuse intends to provide proof of this by example.
The specialized design office has justinvest in the former premises of the Compagnons du Devoir, in the 9th arrondissement of Lyon. Over nearly 300 m2offices, storage space and prototyping workshop have been completely redeveloped, favoring reused materials.
Doors, lighting, furniture, partitions or even terrazzo elements: each development illustrates the possibilities offered by this approach, without compromising on architectural quality or aesthetics. The objective is as much to have a suitable working tool as to offer project owners, architects and companies a life-size demonstrator. © VRamet
“With Bobi Réemploi, we wish to promote a cooperative and innovative approach to the reuse of materials in order to meet the ambitions of decarbonization of construction. Our ambition is to act as a pivot for reuse by coordinating the entire value chain. To achieve this, we rely on the expertise of our team, the development of our own tools and a network of reliable partners who share our desire to create local synergies.“, explain Sophie Lambert, president of Bobi Réemploi.
A company that changes dimension
This new location supports the strong rise of the company created in 2019. Until now distributed between offices located on the slopes of Croix-Rousse and a storage space located in the 9th arrondissement, the teams are now united on the same site. This reorganization responds to particularly rapid growth. Between 2021 and 2025, turnover increased from 120,000 to 613,000 euros, an increase… of more than 400%!
At the same time, the workforce increased from a single employee to eight, with the aim of reaching around fifteen employees by 2030.
Beyond the regrouping of teams, these new premises allow Bobi Réemploi to integrate its entire value chain under one roof: storage of materials, prototyping workshop, requalification, supply, design and support of construction sites. Installed in a building accommodating several companies engaged in sustainable constructionthe design office also intends to promote synergies with the local ecosystem.
A sector that is still largely under-exploited
If the reuse now benefits from a favorable regulatory contextits place in the sector still remains marginal. According to Ademe data, the construction sector generated nearly 22 million tonnes of waste in 2024. Of these volumes, 38% were recycled and 29% used for backfilling. On the other hand, barely 1% of materials have been the subject of genuine reuse or reuse.
Regulatory developments aim precisely to accelerate this dynamic. Since the AGEC law of 2020, the Products-Equipment-Materials-Waste (PEMD) diagnosis is mandatory before the demolition or renovation of buildings over 1,000 m2. Since 2023, the REP sector PMCB also sets progressive reuse objectives : 4% of building waste will have to be reused in 2027, before reaching 5% in 2028.
Added to these obligations is RE2020, which directly promotes the use of reused materials in life cycle analyses, these being counted with a zero carbon impact.

Removing the four main obstacles to reuse
For Bobi Reusethe real challenge is no longer to convince of the environmental benefit of the approach but to secure its operational implementation. The company is involved in the entire process:
– PEMD diagnostics;
– Definition of reuse strategies ;
– Organization of selective deposits;
– Technical qualification of materials;
– Sourcing ;
– Drafting of market documents or support for project owners.
Its role also consists of removing the main obstacles which still slow down the development of the sector: the insurability of materials, their technical requalification, their traceability and cost control. With this in mind, Bobi Reuse relies on its own tools, including a digital materials platform, a storage space located in the heart of Lyon, a prototyping workshop as well as supply and training offers intended for professionals.
More than 1,000 tonnes of materials reused in one year
The company’s activity reflects the rise of reuse in construction and renovation projects. In 2025, Bobi Réemploi indicates having contributed to reuse of 1,058 tonnes of materials. Nearly three quarters were reused directly on the original sites, 18% found a second life on other operations and 10% came from refinishing operations. sourcing.
According to the company, these operations made it possible to avoid the emission of 1,488 tonnes of CO equivalent.2i.e. a volume comparable to the carbon footprint linked to the construction of a new building of approximately 2,300 m2.
