Faced with rising fuel prices, the government is extending until December 31, 2026 the aid of 20 cents per liter of non-road diesel (GNR) intended for construction companies.

Faced with persistent high fuel prices, the government is maintaining its support for construction and public works companies. L’aid intended to offset part of the additional cost of non-road diesel (GNR) is extended until December 31, 2026still at 20 euro cents per liter.
The announcement comes as fuel prices remain under pressure in a context of strong geopolitical tensions and disruptions in oil supplies. The overall cost of the new measures announced on September 22 is estimated at 450 million euros.
GNR remains supported at 20 cents per liter
The device concerns construction companies using RNG for their activities. After several monthly renewals since the spring, the aid is now announced until the end of the year. The principle remains unchanged: 20 euro cents are covered per liter of eligible GNR. The ceiling set by previous decrees is 4,000 euros per company and per monthly period. The precise terms of deposit for the coming months must however be specified by the implementing texts.
Since May, the system has gradually been expanded. Initially reserved for companies with at most 20 employees, it now concerns construction companies employing up to 50 employees. For the month of August, for example, the application could be submitted until September 30, 2026, with the GNR purchase invoices to be provided. However, to benefit from it, companies must be up to date with their tax and social obligations. A restitution condition also exists in certain cases when the amount of aid received exceeds 600 euros, depending on the evolution of their gross operating surplus.
The government justifies this extension by the particular situation of the sector: construction machinery using GNR cannot be instantly replaced by alternative solutions. And for companies facing cash flow tensions, the government also recalls the possibility of requesting deferral of contributions from recovery organizations. Another interesting system for construction companies: the Flash Fuel Loan from Bpifrance. Accessible to VSEs and SMEs in the sector, it allows you to obtain between 5,000 and 50,000 euros to strengthen your cash flow. The loan is scheduled for 36 months, with a capital amortization grace period of 12 months, at a fixed rate of 3.8%. No real or personal guarantee is requested. © Magnific
The fuel bonus increases to 1,000 euros
Employees using their vehicle for their home-work journeys are also affected by government announcements. The annual ceiling of the fuel bonus that the employer can pay to its employees is raised to 1,000 euros, compared to 600 euros previously. According to the government, this bonus benefits from a tax-free regime and is exempt from social contributions under the conditions provided for by the system.
Aid intended for “long-distance” workers has also been extended for October, November and December. Its amount is set at 100 euros for these three months, with an announced equivalence of 40 cents per liter. The system must also be extended to 5.5 million potential beneficiaries, compared to around 3 million previously, subject to conditions of income and use of the vehicle to get to work.
In total, the government estimates the cost of all of these support measures for professionals and households at 450 million euros.
