Edited by the lighting designer Jacopo Acciaro di Studio Voltaire Design and by the designer and plant engineer Pierangelo Pavonithe project adopts a completely new approach: to return a precise luminous identity At the square of the Viscontea Citadel, a scenographic space dominated by the Torre di Adalberto, one of the main accesses in the upper city.

Alessandro Vaglietti, Energy & Lighting Solutions Manager of Telmotor explains:“The project was to redefine the aesthetics of the square and its buildings, simultaneously facing critical themes such as thelight pollutionthe luminous dispersion and the energy saving. We have therefore carried out numerous technical inspections, identifying the most suitable lighting solutions for drawing and enhancing the spaces, improving the perception of places and volumes and creating bright paths between the squares“.
The result is an LED lighting that interacts harmoniously with the architectural volumes and stone surfaces of the buildings, minimizing light pollution and maximizing the visual comfort. The bright paths and scenarios created draw new visual perspectivesmaking Piazza Cittadella a suggestive place and valued even in the evening.
LED technology and KNX intelligent management systems
The intervention started fromvaulted which introduces the square, valued with Linear lighting elements. The existing lanterns have been repositioned and equipped with new LED sources, while in the portico of the Archaeological Museum L ‘indirect lighting enhances the spans and the access paththanks to projectors mounted directly on the strip chains and collections.
“We developed Custom products with specific anchors and perfectly integrated in the architectural context. The use of dedicated optics guaranteed visual comfort, absence of dazzling and significant reduction in light pollution. Every detail is now enhanced thanks to the light, completing the urban and cultural redevelopment of the Upper City“, Vaglietti concludes.
LED lighting bodies, tailored to ensure maximum energy efficiency and a high color rendering are integrated with an KNX intelligent management system. This advanced solution allows the Planning of customized bright scenariosin response to the cultural and tourist needs of the square, ensuring sustainability and energy saving.
The new lighting of Piazza Cittadella thus represents not only a technical intervention, but a dowel of a wider urban vision, which combines aesthetic, environmental sustainability and quality of public life.
