Ecobonus: Windows and condensing boilers at the top of the list

According to the Enea data, in 2023 the interventions facilitated by the Ecobonus generated investments for 5.86 billion euros. The most frequent works concern the replacement of fixtures (41.37% of investments) and heating systemsin particular with condensing boilers (20.66%) e heat pumps (11.31%). These interventions contributed to a total energy saving of about 1,700 GWh per year, with greater benefits concentrated especially in residential buildings.

The most active regions are Lombardy, Piedmont, Emilia-Romagna and Venetoboth in absolute terms and considering the number of homes. Aeneas notes that condensing boilers are the most frequent choice in medium climatic zones (D and E), while the fixtures are the most adopted solution in the coldest areas (area F).

House bonus: photovoltaic boom and heat pumps

Also in 2023 the home bonus is confirmed very popular by Italian citizens. Enea highlights that the most common type of intervention is theInstallation of heat pumps (37% of the total) followed by photovoltaic systemswhose number is more than doubled compared to the previous yeargoing from 58,283 interventions in 2022 to 120,024 in 2023, for an installed power of about 658 MWP (+54.81% compared to 2022).

Citizens also show great attention to the theme of home automation And energy saving: Building Automation interventions grow by 21.39%, showing interest in integrated technological solutions.

SupercoBonus: energy and economic advantages

The SuperCobonus remains one of the most ambitious tools for the energy redevelopment of the Italian building heritage, thanks to the minimum goal of Improvement of two energy classes of the building. Enea stresses that most of the interventions concern buildings built between 1946 and 1980, thus also highlighting a potential aesthetic and social improvement of urban suburbs in line with the European objectives of the new European Bauhaus.

Among the interventions financed by the Supercobonus prevail thermal insulation, replacement of fixtures and installation of new high efficiency thermal systemsas condensing boilers and heat pumps, with significant economic and environmental benefits.

What interventions did they generate most advantages in 2023?

The data collected by Enea allow to clearly identify the most convenient building interventions carried out during 2023, as regards economic and environmental benefits:

  • Replacement of fixtures and thermal insulation: These types of interventions have been confirmed among the most requested, ensuring a significant immediate reduction in energy consumption, improving the comfort of homes and increasing the real estate value.
  • Installation of photovoltaic systems: in 2023 a decisive increase in installations (+105.93% compared to 2022) was recorded, demonstrating the growing awareness of the importance of the self -production of renewable energy to contain domestic energy costs.
  • Heat pumps and condensing boilers: Central interventions are confirmed for the redevelopment of obsolete thermal systems, with a strong impact both in terms of annual energy savings and for the actual reduction of greenhouse gase emissions.

These results offer precious indications to citizens and professionals to guide future choices and investments towards increasingly efficient and sustainable energy solutions.

The ENEA 2024 report on tax deductions also photographs one growing awareness by Italian citizens on the importance of energy redevelopment and tax incentives.
