Shortly after the conclusion of the procedure for the filling of 980 posts (of which 160 for technical professionals) and that for the hiring of 564 officials, we expect shortly new competitions from the Customs and Monopolies Agency.
According to the PIAO 2024-2026, between the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2026, in fact, over 2800 places will have to be filledwith competitive procedures, ranking scrolling and career progression.
Hires already made by ADM in 2024
In the first half of 2024, the Customs and Monopolies Agency (ADM) has already seen numerous additions of staff from procedures launched in previous years, and further entries from recent competitions are expected in the second half of the year. In particular:
- 564 officials through a public competition (Determination no. 88832/RU of 12 February 2024);
- 112 officials by scrolling the ranking of those eligible for the same procedure (20% of the 564 places);
- 59 assistants by scrolling the ranking of the procedure to 640 places (Determination no. 390644/RU of 30 August 2022);
- 839 officials expected in total in the Officials Area by the end of 2024, including internal hiring and vertical progressions;
- 41 vertical progressions in the Assistants Area, as per the CCNL of the Central Functions sector.
Hiring expected in 2025 and 2026
For 2025, ADM plans to hire 163 officials and 381 assistants, both through new public competitions and through the scrolling of rankings. Furthermore, new mobility procedures are being planned pursuant to art. 30 of the Legislative Decree. n. 165/2001 to address the critical issues of specific territorial areas, also involving personnel from other administrations not subject to hiring constraints. In particular:
- 163 officials through public competition;
- 381 assistants through public competition o scrolling of rankings;
- 1 official through deferral of entry into service (Procedure for 766 posts, determination no. 341753 of 5 October 2020)
- 1 assistant through deferral of entry into service (640-place procedure, determination no. 390644/RU of 30 August 2022)
In 2026, the agency also aims to recruit more 366 officials And 294 assistants through public competitions.
Customs Agency competitions, how they work
The competitions of the Customs and Monopolies Agency are published on the site adm.concorsismart.it. In the previous selections i places dedicated to professionals in the technical area (in particular engineers, architects and surveyors) were numerous, and in some cases it was even possible to apply with any first level degreespecialist or master’s degree. We await news on the release of the new tenders.
The selection procedure usually consists of the following tests:
- (possible) pre-selective test (single for all competition codes) with multiple choice questions;
- written test (in the past composed of 2 open-ended questions and 10 multiple choice questions);
- oral testan interview aimed at ascertaining the candidate’s preparation as well as his aptitude for carrying out the functions required by the profile, on all or some of the subjects covered by the previous tests.
