PRB, Cantillana, Algimouss: complementarity serving the construction site “from floor to ceiling”

By bringing together the know-how of PRB, Cantillana and Algimouss, the Holcim group is expanding its offering and intends to support professionals at each stage of the construction site. Meeting, at Batimat 2026.

PRB, the Vendée manufacturer which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2025no longer seeks only to expand its own ranges: it relies on the ccomplementarities of PRB, Cantillana and Algimouss in order to constitute a more substantial offer, capable of follow building professionals on morestages of a construction site.

Behind the slogan, it is not simply a question of presenting a more extensive catalog. Since theintegration of PRB into the Holcim group in 2022then the merger with Algimouss in 2025, a new logic is emerging, that of making companies work together which each have their own history, their markets and their know-how, but whose ranges can complement each other: “we wanted to pool our strengths in order to offer a global offer to our customers“, explains Maëva Macquigneau.

In other words, for the customer, the promise of having a contact capable of covering more needs, without renouncing the specialized brands that have built their reputation.

Three brands, three expertise

The movement began with PRB. During its acquisition by Holcim, the Vendée group was presented as the leading independent French manufacturer of technical solutions for buildingswith an estimated turnover of 340 million euros in 2022. Its offering already covered a broad spectrum, from coatings and coatings to insulation systems, glues, mortars and floor solutions.

Cantillana then came to strengthen this activity. The Belgian specialist in facade solutions and exterior thermal insulation, acquired by Holcim in 2022, then had a turnover estimated at 80 million euros and had nine production sites spread across several European countries – Holcim had precisely highlighted the geographical and industrial complementarity with PRB.

Then, on June 30, 2025, Algimouss joined PRB. Based in La Séguinière, near Cholet, the company brings a different specialty: cleaning, treatment and protection of exterior building surfaces. It has around thirty employees, markets around 100 products and relies on a network of 3,200 distributors in France and Europe.

It is precisely this complementarity that PRB now wants to transform it into a concrete advantage for its customers. Where PRB historically intervenes in construction, facades, insulation, mortars, glues or finishes, Cantillana reinforces facade solutions and construction systems, while Algimouss is located further downstream, on the maintenance and protection of buildings. “The idea was to pool our strengths to offer a global offer to our customers“, explains Maëva Macquigneau. The merger should thus make it possible to pool know-how, but also to better exploit the complementarities between ranges, packaging and industrial capacities.

This organization also responds to market developments. THE professionals must intervene on increasingly complex siteswhere questions of insulation, renovation, protection and maintenance intersect. For the manufacturer, offering a more global solution therefore makes it possible to no longer think only by product, but more by use and by construction stage.

And for PRB, this strategy is based on three priorities: people, the environment and performance.

People before products

At the house of Cantillana, a technology like TechNoDustwhich attacks the question of dust generated during the use of certain productsreflects the priority given to people in the group’s strategy.

Developed to reduce dust emissions, TechNoDust technology targets situations in which operators work in confined or poorly ventilated spaces, such as tunnels, galleries or pipes. © Cantillana

TechNoDust: a technology to reduce dust on construction sites

Faced with increasing demands in terms of health, safety and performance, Cantillana France is developing its technical mortars by further integrating working conditions into the design of its products. Its TechNoDust technology is an undeniable illustration of this: integrated into certain mortars and sprayed concrete, it aims to significantly reduce dust emissions during their application.

According to the data communicated by Cantillana Francethe process makes it possible to reduce dust emissions by up to 75% compared to a reference formulation. The results presented by the manufacturer relate in particular to total dust emissions and to respirable particles, which can penetrate deeper into the respiratory tract.

Take into account real working conditions

Handling constitutes another area of reflection: packaging is offered in different forms, from 25 kg bags to Big Bags and silo solutions, in order to respond to construction site configurations and different supply methods. This diversity makes it possible to adapt logistics and limit, where possible, manual handling operations.

The formulation itself is also worked from the angle of workability, the aim being to:

– facilitate technical gestures;

– Reduce the effort required for application;

– And to limit fatigue linked to the repetition of operations.

This approach reflects an evolution in the way of thinking about the performance of a construction material. Indeed, for Cantillanathis is not measured only by the resistance, durability or ease of application of the product once on the site; it must also integrate the conditions in which professionals will transport it, prepare it and implement it.

Reduce impact without sacrificing performance

The second axis of the PRB strategy concerns the environment, which we find in the search for reduction of waste and the carbon footprint at the industrial level, but also in the evolution of formulations. Algimouss provides a good example with its Algi-Vert range and its biocide-free treatment. based on probiotics and claiming 98.5% ingredients of natural origin. The principle consists of using micro-organisms capable of producing enzymes acting on dirt, in particular algae and lichens, on roofs, facades and terraces.

The interest of the solution also lies in its conditions of use. Indeed, Algimouss indicates that a period of three hours without rain is sufficient after application and that the product can be used without diverting rainwater during application, which allows its use near recovery systems.

Here again, the approach does not consist of opposing environment and technical efficiency, it rather seeks to integrate the two parameters into the very design of the solution.
This orientation is not new at Algimouss. The company, which claims 50 years of experience in the exterior maintenance of buildings, specifies that 90% of its products are manufactured in France and markets around a hundred references.

A logic that goes beyond the simple grouping of catalogs

There presence of PRB, Cantillana and Algimouss At last Paris Builders Show brought this desire to bring together expertise into reality. Gathered in the same space, the three brands highlighted their areas of expertise, from construction to renovation, to cleaning and protection of buildings. It is also a way of showing, concretely, how their ranges can complement each other throughout the different interventions on a construction site.

Because building is no longer just about building. It is necessary to insulate, repair, protect, maintain, improve the lifespan of structures and gradually reduce their environmental impact. It is on this ground that PRB, Cantillana and Algimouss now want to move forward together.
