The restoration of the structural elements
Restore is not only a preparatory phase, but it is a necessary condition to ensure the mechanical continuity of the support and the correct adhesion of reinforcement materials. The process provides:
- The preparation of the support through the removal of degraded concrete and its accurate cleaning, until a solid and rough surface is obtained, with roughness not less than 5 mm;
- the protection of the armor exposed with anti -corrosive cement mortar (Mapefer 1k zero);
- volumetric reconstruction with high -performance structural mortars.
The Mapei offer for the recovery of concrete
Mapei has developed a complete line of products for the restoration of concrete structures, designed specifically for interventions on all types of buildings. The offer ranges from tissotropic products to colable products, with different socket times and for different application thicknesses, adapting to the various design and construction site needs that can present themselves.
Among the most recent products there is Planitop Rasa & Ripara R4 Extra Zero, the evolution of Mapei technology in the field of structural restoration. It is a fiber-reinforced tissotropic cement mortar, with semi-papid socket and compensated retreat, designed to guarantee higher performance and greater application flexibility.
The semi-papyian socket allows more working time, so the new product is ideal for restoring also large surfaces, especially in the hottest seasons, without precluding the possibility of being used even throughout the year. It can be applied in a thickness between 3 and 40 mm in one hand, and is indicated for the regularization of defects and the restoration of concrete surfaces.
Thanks to its fine civil finish, it gives an excellent aesthetic aspect and is directly paintable, without the need for further treatments. Planitop Rasa & Ripara R4 Extra Zero complies with EN 1504-3 for the R4 class structural recovery mortars and EN 1504-2 for the protection systems for concrete surfaces.

Other structural mortars with different regology or socket time, useful to meet all the needs of the construction site, are the products:
- Planitop Rasa & Ripara R4 Zero: Quick Tisso Tissatropic Malta, of Class R4, ideal for restoration and shaving of concrete elements. Compliant with the EN 1504-3 for the R4 class structural recovery mortars and the EN 1504-2.
- Mapegrout repairs easy zero: structural tissotropic mortar with normal grip, formulated for the restoration of structures subject to sulphate aggression. Applicable manually or by continuous mixing machine, it complies with EN 1504-3 for the R4 class structural restoration mortars.
- Zero Mapefill: structural colable mortar ideal for precision anchors and restoration. It meets the minimum requirements required by EN 1504-6, relating to the anchoring of the steel armor and those requested by the EN 1504-3 for the R4 class structural restoration mortars.

All these products are part of the Zero Line, the innovative Mapei range which includes over 200 solutions for building emissions completely compensated. Through the work of its research laboratories, Mapei undertakes to develop high -performance technical solutions that reduce the environmental impact throughout the life cycle of the product, showing that it is possible to combine innovation, durability and environmental responsibility. Residual emissions are compensated through the purchase of certified carbon credits, in support of forests protection projects.
