Engineering Forum 4.0 2025: news and thematic areas
The 2025 edition of the Engineering 4.0 Forum introduces a significant innovation: the opening to the world of venture capital and startups. This choice recognizes the strategic role of those who invest in innovation in building bridges between universities, research centers, consolidated companies and new protagonists of technological entrepreneurship. Dedicated spaces will facilitate direct meetings between those who develop emerging solutions and those who can support their growth and diffusion on the market.
Among this year’s novelties we also highlight the Podcast Live Station, a format that aims to extend the life of the Forum beyond the two days in Genoa with interviews and debates recorded live and shared online, to keep the conversation alive and broaden the audience of participants.
The program of the Engineering 4.0 Forum will be divided into three major thematic areas:
- Sea: digitalisation of ports, advanced nautical, marine renewable energies;
- Earth: smart cities, new materials, industrial automation and finance for infrastructural innovation;
- Space: orbital technologies and their impacts on production processes and terrestrial applications.
The guests and the startups
The 2025 guests include Franco Malerba, the first Italian astronaut; Massimo Comparini (Leonardo); Gilberto Nobili (Luna Rossa); Alfonso Oliva (NVIDIA); Anna Amati (Eureka! Ventures) and Costanzo Graffi (AECOM).
Alongside them, startups such as Caracol, LOKI, Novac and Phononic Vibes will present solutions ranging from robotic manufacturing to structural supercapacitors, from acoustic metamaterials to intelligent systems for infrastructure monitoring.
How to participate
Forum Engineering 4.0 confirms itself as an event of dialogue between technological visions, professional skills and investment capital: a place to listen, meet and build new opportunities for collaboration. Participants will be able to understand emerging technologies, explore applications in neighboring fields and connect with complementary networks of expertise.
The choice of Genoa as the location is not random: a city that has always been a crossroads between different worlds, with a port oriented towards internationalization, a solid industrial fabric and a research center of excellence such as the Italian Institute of Technology, involved in projects ranging from robotics to marine and space applications, in synergy with the European Space Agency.
The event is in person only and places are limited, registration is required. Accreditation has been requested from the National Council of Engineers and for each single day 3 CFP will be recognized for Engineers registered with the Orders.
To access the Ponte dei Mille Maritime Station there will be a first reception point at the entrance gate, managed by the location staff, who will verify the name. It is not permitted to park at the Maritime Station with your own vehicle: we recommend using public transport to access the location (Metro stop 50 meters away).
