Faced with the waste of used sealant, glue and silicone cartridges, Christelle Caron imagined a patented solution, a gold winner at the Paris Builder Shows 2026.
Opened cartridges of unusable putty, glue and silicone shortly after? A common but unbearable mess for Christelle Caron, who has patented an effective and sustainable solution to remedy it.
A woman with no connection to the building provides an innovative response to a headache often encountered by all users of cannula cartridges, professionals and amateurs. An innovation, which in its four-tube version is crowned with the Gold Laureate in the Construction Machinery, Tools, Vehicles and Equipment category at the Paris Builder Shows 2026: “consecration!” rejoices our Géo Trouvetou.

The starting tilt
L’adventure of the Masticbox Sadurr begins when Christelle realizes while repairing her boat that the expensive cartridges she uses can hardly be used more than once. Sharing the putty with other dock mates isn’t entirely satisfactory and she sets out to find how to store opened cartridgeswhich would be both economical and ecological, given that these products are not recyclable. Then begins an obstacle course to imagine, develop, validate, patent and market your product.
A successful epic
The discreet Christelle reveals herself to be inventive and tenacious: “It took me more than two years of research and development, between 2020 and 2022. I first studied the technical data sheets of the products to understand why they had such a short shelf life. Their common weak point is to dry quickly on contact with air, not only at the level of the cannula but also at the bottom, as I discovered by cutting spent cartridges into washers“.
Deducing that it was protect the entire cartridgeit begins by enclosing opened cartridges in PVC plumbing tubes closed with plumbing plugs and O-rings. “I added silica gels to absorb moisture from the trapped air. After testing various qualities of gels, I opted for quality, using a product manufactured by the German leader in the field, which does not release humidity below 100°C”.
Premature polymerization is therefore prevented. But the budding inventor had many other requirements than just the practical aspect: not to use electronics or consumables to make it a durable product, to make it 100% repairable and to be manufactured in France. “My boxes are made in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes“, she emphasizes. “Only this gel comes from Germany. It can be used at least 40 times before becoming saturated with moisture. When the compartment turns white, it is time to regenerate it, which is easily done by bringing the silica beads to more than 100 degrees in a traditional oven or for two minutes at 600 W in a microwave oven..”
The process is refined after a six-month collaboration with a mold maker. “We chose different plastics for their intrinsic properties: transparent PET tubes, ABS bases and polypropylene caps..” Removing air from the tube with a simple manual pump – as with wine – also makes it possible to optimize conservation: the solution is perfect.

Adapt the product to the users
There Sadurr technology received three awards at the 2023 Lépine Competition. The Solo version, the first patented and marketed product, was presented at a major German boat show. “At that time, I wasn’t thinking of construction as my main outlet.“, recognizes Christelle Caron. However, it is mainly building craftsmen who have adopted my product and have given it a lot of feedback allowing it toimprove Mastic Boxes. “The Solos were carried around in vans, the next version, with six tubes (PRO) was heavy to carry once full… So I developed an intermediate version, the Quattro, presented today.” Mostly intended for building professionals, this solution allows you touse the cartridges fully and at your own paceby responding to current challenges of reducing waste and optimizing consumables in the building sector.
With its 4 independent but interdependent tubes, the Masticbox Sadurr Quattro, the latest addition to the range, is compact. Its reinforced, non-slip base and carrying strap make it easier to move around and use on site. An evolving concept
Parisian, Christelle Caron developed her company, Crysla SAS, within a business incubator in Orléans, to develop the marketing of its Mastic Box Sadurr. “I received valuable support from those around me. My husband, met during a Lépine competition in 2011, is himself an inventive person who fell into the pot. The bank, the BPI, the Center Val de Loire Region and other authorities provided me with their support“Now based in the southwest, the entrepreneur is very mobile.”It’s a long road to make a product known that has no equivalent on the market. It’s demanding but the encounters are often fascinating!“
Christelle Caron pulls out all the stops: presence at the most diverse events, direct sales via her website and through specialized distributors in France, Belgium and Germany. “The building industry is the main outlet, with all the trades involved, including the swimming pool specialists who repair the liners underwater! Boating and industrial maintenance, particularly aeronautics, are also largely interested in the use of cannula cartridges. The investment is quite low and word of mouth works well. It is certain that making the product known to individuals would also allow it to be referenced in GSB, which would be ideal..” In the meantime, she is delighted toInnovation Award awarded this year : “being distinguished by a jury of experts in the profession gives me legitimacy which reassures me“.
At 52, she intends to continue the adventure by continuing to improve her products: “I’m thinking about new features to make the use of airtight tubes even easier“. With a brain in turmoil and boundless energy, the conditions are ripe!
