The current picture: information from Minister Calderone

During the meeting, the Minister of Labor and Social Policies, Marina Calderone, presented a detailed information on the state of safety at work in Italy.

The focus was placed on INAIL data relating to accidentswith particular attention to the accidents that involved studentsin light of the extension of the insurance protections provided for by the decree-law no. 48/2023.

Calderone has also illustrated the regulatory activities adopted in the last two years: from strengthening the rules on inspection controls atincrease of dedicated staffpassing through the fight against submerged work and a more efficient use of databases.

Among the main operating tools that emerged is the Boarding license in constructiondesigned to reward virtuous employers and discourage negligent conduct.

Work safety: focus on education and vigilance

The government’s strategy is also based on an integrated plan that provides training and information actions at all levels.

The government will present new proposals and open the debate with unions, representatives of businesses and employers. The intent is to give full implementation to the measures started, but also to collect useful suggestions to define the next steps.
