Foundation soil consolidation: Uretek launches the Stability Plus system, with post-intervention monitoring

Subsidence of the foundation soil can generate cracks in the walls and require interventions capable not only of consolidating the soil, but also of verifying the evolution of the crack pattern over time. This includes STABILITY PLUS, the new system patented by the Uretek company for consolidating the foundation soil through resin injections.

The project, unique on the market, integrates the consolidation intervention with the monitoring of the main damage to the building in the following months and with the structural repair of the cracks detected. The interventions are covered by a 10-year guarantee, with the aim of offering a more complete response to problems of subsidence of the foundation soil and greater transparency in evaluating the result.

STABILITY PLUS: development phases

The Uretek STABILITY PLUS system is developed in three phases: the consolidation of the foundation soil with injections of expanding resins, the continuous remote structural monitoring of the most significant cracks and their subsequent repair to restore structural continuity.

A distinctive element of the system is the continuous monitoring of the building, in the months following consolidation, through patented biaxial crack meters. In the event of anomalies, the system sends an automatic alert to the Uretek technical office, which evaluates the evolution of the situation and, if necessary, intervenes.

STABILITY PLUS therefore adds a further element to the control and verification process of interventions. It is accompanied by continuous monitoring with a laser system during consolidation and penetrometric tests useful for determining the improvement of the mechanical characteristics of the foundation soil.

The commercial director of Uretek Italia, eng. Marco Sganzerla*, declares: “With STABILITY PLUS we take a further step forward in managing structural problems related to settlements. We do not limit ourselves to the consolidation of the ground: we accompany the customer in a complete process of control, verification and stabilization of the building, up to the repair of the lesions to restore the structural continuity of the masonry.”

STABILITY PLUS: when indicated

STABILITY PLUS is indicated in the presence of cracks in residential buildings, condominiums, public structures and properties subject to subsidence phenomena. The system stands out for its speed, non-invasiveness and monitoring over time which accompanies the client until definitive stabilisation.

The new program adds to other tools of concrete use for engineers and designers. Among these, the software for the design of consolidation interventions with SIMS 2.0 resin injections and the volume Design Guideboth created in collaboration with the Polytechnic of Turin.

With over 35 years of experience and more than 66 thousand interventions carried out, Uretek thus strengthens its role as a reference in the sector of geotechnical solutions with injections of expanding resins.
