Photovoltaic systems
The volume is a complete guide I) to the design of the Grid-Connected photovoltaic systems, also equipped with storage systems, II) to the presentation of maintenance interventions to optimize its performance, III) to the discussion of the issues inherent in technological modernizations performed on plants in operation (revamping and repowering), IV) to the residential and industrial distributed generation and to the systems of Multimegawatt power and utility-scale. The text shows the architecture of a photovoltaic system, providing the necessary elements for the correct system sizing, describing its system engineering in depth: from the generation group to the point of connection to the electrical network. The volume is updated to current electrical legislation, also with particular attention to the recent regulatory provisions regarding the implementation of storage systems within the electric system. Part of the volume is dedicated to the exercise in parallel with the electrical network of photovoltaic systems, describing its types of connection in low, medium and high voltage, the design aspects and the process of the Tica – from the request for connection forwarded to the network operator , until the realization of the network works. The text shows standard ordinary maintenance operations, up to the thermographic analysis made with drones. Cases of “under performing” photovoltaic systems are illustrated, and shown in detail examples of malfunctions or faults of photovoltaic modules and other system components that involve reduction of the performance ratio. The text shows all the bureaucratic obligations to which it is necessary to comply in order to avoid economic penalties and guarantee the maintenance of the right to the incentive and GSE conventions for incentivized systems and photovoltaic systems exercised in Grid/Market Parity. The 15 technical reports of photovoltaic systems, complete with electrical patterns and design calculations – issued in the web space available to the reader are of precious practical aid.
